Although we sell some things here locally, most of the material we sell is well packed and shipped to buyers outside of California. Almost everything you see here was bought from sellers and pickers in the east and midwest. Most of it is sold and packed and sent back there. We are careful to describe our things in detail and provide clear photographs to make your purchase problem free. We want to avoid misunderstandings and disappointment. Once your purchase is made, we will arrange super careful professional crated or blanket wrapped, insured shipping and delivery of the item to your door.
We have a list of references we are happy to provide who will attest to our integrity and service quality. For example, In during May and June 2010, we fully restored the complete standing hardware assembly for a huge Standard Albion tub for Larry and Donna T. in rural Tennessee. They had gotten the tub by pure luck, but could not use it because the hardware had been buggered and butchered by previous owners. About to give up on ever using their beautiful Victorian tub, they contacted Vintage Plumbing in desparation. We were able to completely repair and restore the hardware, making new stems, and other missing parts, providing proper replacement handles, repairing splits and cracks in old tubing parts, and all for very reasonable cost. The hardware was all polished and re-nickel plated. Larry T. helped his local plumber install the hardware and the tub, and it functioned beautifully without any leaks at all. Donna T. cried tears of joy in being able to actually use her 100 year old swimming pool sized bathtub. Also, in 2009, Kimbery V. of Mississippi took delivery of our two green farmhouse sinks for her grandmothers old house. She wrote, "Don, the sinks arrived in perfect shape, and I love them. The shippers were super careful and professional. I could not be happier, Thank you!". Also, in December, 2008, Steven and Katherine C. of New York needed new trim pieces machined for the irreplaceable valves on their J.L. Mott Iron Works sink. We made the parts for them and had them nickel plated. Steven wrote: "We received the valves and new escutcheons. I just wanted to let you know something you already know: you've got a darned good machinist and a darned good plater. The new escutcheons are beautiful!" Also, John K. of San Francisco took delivery of a nice Crane farmhouse sink and original faucet they bought and wrote "Yesterday we received the faucet assembly -- It's a beauty! and the sink the other day and it was undamaged and it's a beauty too. Thank you, thank you, John K." Also, Don and Kathy G. of Redondo Beach had us restore some irreplaceable sink faucets that other "experts" had deemed unrepairable. Upon receipt, Don wrote, " We received and installed the faucets today and they look and operate great. Thanks again for the wonderful job." In April, Mrs. Marilyn C. of Columbus Ohio purchased a beautiful Standard Mfg. Co. pedestal sink and toilet tank. She wrote upon receiving "WOW !! Just wanted to let you know that the toilet tank and pedestal sink have arrived, and I'm overwhelmed! It was certainly the right decision to buy from Vintage Plumbing instead of trying to figure out whether items in a salvage warehouse would work and what additional work they'd need to be usable. Thanks so much for all you've done (and will continue to do) to help us with our old home!" Also, Ms. Diana P. bought a kitchen sink that was delivered to her parents address in Northern California. Diane wrote: "Don- the sink arrived yesterday morning. My mom called me this am. She says that it is just what I wanted and I will be thrilled. No chips, no cracks, no breaks, just beautiful! My mom was very impressed by the two delivery guys. They were very nice and accommodating to her, so, she was happy. And that makes me real happy. This sink will really look great in my little Queen Anne bungalow. I would like to thank you again for all of your assistance. THANK YOU!" A couple years ago, Mr. Al Martin of Maine was looking for two sets of white china cross handles with an odd broach size, and having no luck. He sent us a sample, and we had what he needed including a replacement escutcheon that he had given up trying to find. When he received his box of trim from us he wrote: "the handles arrived yesterday. They are all installed now and fit and look Great!, as well as the escutcheon! Thanks for your knowledge and great service."
