Nickel Plated Accessories

In this corner of the warehouse we have the unique and unusual Nickel Plated Brass ACCESSORIES that you want to complete the details of your Victorian Bathroom. Here you will find interesting towel bars, towel racks, glass shelves, some with cup and soap holders, sponge holders, soap dishes, match holders, toilet paper holders, soiled towel baskets, etc. Many people seek out accessories by a particular manufacturing company. There were several great New York companies making fine fixtures at the turn of the century. These include "The J.L. Mott Iron Works", "Silver Co." the "Art Brass Company" whose later goods were called "San-O-La". "Landers-Frary & Clark" was a quality manufacturer located in New Britain CT. Goods by the "Peck Bros & Co." of New Haven CT. are very difficult to find. A Boston company that is quite well known and whose fixtures are especially well suited for homes of the Arts/Crafts era was "The Brasscrafters". Please inquire if what you are looking for is not here. We just might have it in a box somewhere.

San-O-La Fine Bath Room Ware

by the Art Brass Company 299 E. 134th Street, New York, NY.

The Art Brass Company of NY was a prominent maker of nickel plated brass bathroom accessories right after the turn of the 20th century. The company boasted of "largely one-piece solid brass casting pieces of great strength, with few joints to break." Their nickel plated finish was called much heavier, smoother, brighter than all others, and true enough, we find many old Art Brass and San-O-La pieces that still have a very good nickel plated finish even today. The company boasted that their items were frequently "installed in exclusive residences, clubs and hotels and public and Government buildings throughout the world."

We have accumulated many unique San-O-La pieces over the years. We have hooks, match holders, cup holders, soap holders, glass shelves and rare glass shelf/cup/soap holders. We also have several sets of towel bars, including the top of the line models that have glass balls on the ends. We have some with clear glass balls, some with opal (milk) glass balls, and a few with cut crystal balls. If interested in fitting out a bathroom with Art Brass Co.accessories, please write, and let's talk.

Trade Mark "The Brasscrafters"

The Brasscrafters was the tradename of the J.P.Eustis Mfg Company of 12-14-16 Ames Street, Cambridge, (Boston), MASS. From 1899 up to the 1940s, the Eustis company manufactured a complete line of brass bathroom accessories that included everything from match holders, towel bars and racks and baskets, toilet paper holders, cup holders, mirrors, sponge holders and etc. etc. All these items were offered in several different designs. Most of the products were clearly imprinted with the mark Trade Mark - The Brasscrafters, and most also had patent dates of 1902, 1904, or 1912. Some had the mark Method Patent imprinted. Many of the items featured Brasscrafters' patented crimped over "Indestructible" silver-soldered joints, which proved to be a very durable design, as their pieces have stood the test of time, and many are still found today 100 years after they were made.
We have collected many interesting Brasscrafters pieces, and are offering them for sale here.
